Clarence (Sharkey) MacDermid
Driller – 2005 to Present
Treo has been good to me – and I'm planning on stickin' around! I've been at Treo for the last four seasons and I keep coming back for a number of reasons. First I can't say enough good things about how seriously Treo takes safety. Working on a rig can be dangerous, but Treo has taken the time to put procedures in place to make sure we all get home safe and sound at the end of each working day – and at the end of the season.
Treo has good people from head office right down to the crews you work with. Rig managers spend the time to show new guys the best way to do their job. It really made the learning curve a lot easier for me. I really look forward to seeing everyone when the season is about to start. The winter drilling season works perfectly for me because I fish for lobster in the summer, and of course, the money I earn from Treo is fantastic.

Drilling Superintendent – 2001 to Present
I started as a lease hand and have worked my way up to Drilling Superintendent. I've never had a job that so clearly rewards hard work. I'm living proof that hard work will carry you up the ladder. There are lots of opportunities for advancement at Treo.

Derrick hand – 2005 to Present
One of the big reasons I keep coming back is the camaraderie out here. It's more of a brotherhood than a friendship, extending past my immediate crew from the office to the field. Management takes a genuine interest in each of us – we're more than a number to them. If we have any problems, Treo's managers are easy to get hold of, and they fix it. And I honestly love the work.
